summertime

so, our lazy summer has been so busy that we need a vacation from our vacation! seriously! this week we'll be staying home and catching up...on laundry! hope everyone is having a wonderful summer enjoying the sunshine.

that's right, i chopped it all off! and i freaking love it. my husband...not so much. and my maw thinks it needs to be combed. guess i can't make everybody happy. my booger thinks it's great though. he's really all i care about! and if nothing else, i did it for a good cause. there's over 12 inches going to locks of love. let me know what you guys think...

old lady birthday party

so...i am now inmy thirties. last wednesday i turned thirty one. i know, i know, i have already been thirty for a year now, but for some reason this birthday makes it official. we celebrated by grilling burgers at the river with the rettelis and the digmans. had a few beers and then some of karin's famous tres leches cake. sooo yummy! it was one of my favorite birthdays so far, even if i am an old lady! thirty one is the new twenty one, didn't you know?

vivi's shiner

vivi got into a brawl on saturday...with a pile of rocks. she was playing at mimi's house and she fell right onto her left eye. but we think it makes her look tough!

sunshine on jordie's b-day

jordan's birthday was awesome. not only was he completely surprised about his party but he was also lucky enough to have the most beautiful weather on sunday. we spent his birthday afternoon bbq-ing and hanging out on the deck with the kids. jordie spent his birthday gift card on a pool for the kids and a lounge chair for me. what a great dad! we love him even if he's an old fart!

vivi's first

well, vivi made it. she is finally a big girl. at one year she is able to run, point, tackle(thanks to holland), and finally...sleep through the night. it only took a year! she really gave it to us for the first twelve months of life and we are looking forward to the next year with hopeful anticipation. will she take the sweet route? we shall see...
